Make English the Default Language for Mozilla Firefox Search

Last week, I wrote about how to make English the default language for Google Chrome Search. Well, Firefox has the same problem too, but I have never faced it because I use Firefox Bookmark Keywords to do all my searches. However for people living in countries where the default language is not English, all searches through the Firefox search bar will have non-English search results. Thankfully, its just a two step process to make English search results the default for Firefox.

1) Go to https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/51000 and click on ‘Add to Firefox’ Button

2) A dialogue box will pop up, check the box next to ‘Start using it right away’ and click on the ‘Add’ Button

Thats it, you’re done. Now all your search results initiated from the Firefox search bar will be in English.

  1. Just so you know, that did not work at all. Everything is still in German! Super annoying – Firefox and Google should both stop this automatic redirection. For people who travel, it is really,, really, really stupid and annoying.
